Indonesian Dispatches: Daighila Rocks Out Java

The sole purpose of my trip to Indonesia this past month was to tour with hardcore bands and experience the explosive DIY music scene across Java. Right now I am still shifting through thousands of photographs, so I thought I would separately introduce one of the two bands I first toured with in Jakarta, Bandung, Solo and Yogya. Daighila is a hardcore screamo band from Malaysia and kick ass. While I might not go home after a long day of work and throw on their record to relax, they put on one of the most impassioned live performances I ever witnessed. The leader singer, Duan, outstripped himself ever time he got on stage and raised the hackles on the necks of audiences across Java. It was really unbelievable to see first hand and hopefully the attached video will give you an idea of the emotional heights Daighila can reach during their shows. Even though over ten bands played at every concert, Daighila always stood out from the pack.

this december, hailing all the way from the land of the rising sun, CYBERNE will tour southeast asia, with 3 countries in particular ; Malaysia, Indonesia & Singapore respectively. DAIGHILA has

scored the opportunity of playing as much as 3 shows ; GUDANG NOISY, AMPANG on the 3rd December which will be organized by yours truly & stoneville records, and in lion city aka SINGAPORE at the SUBSTATION THEATRE which will be organized by our superhero frieds cher & glen reppin' 7x0x7 on 11th December and the final drum roll being in tunework studio,Danau Kota, Setapak on the 13th of December. We're really hoping for everyone to come support all the shows and have some fun together.

we are back. we played our first show after a 6 month rest due to duan's neck operation last sunday in singapore with a few great bands. He delivered but we only played half of our set because of some technical difficulties. But we had fun and get to meet up with our good old friends there. Thanks to iskandar, piqa, mimi, yati, izad, din and kyn for the hospitality and also to everyone else involved. we will be playing our next show this saturday in kajang. see you there.

in the next few months we will not be able to perform or produce new materials due to the fact that one of our line up,duan had recently went through a surgery to remove

'lefthemityroidectomy'/thyroid on his throat. we will be on hiatus for the next 2-3 months in order to wait for him to fully recover. to those who had kindly invited us to play at upcoming gigs and shows,we're very sorry for our inavailablities and thank you so much for inviting us.

Our split with fanzui xiangfa (criminal minds), a hardcore punk band based in beijing featuring an ex member of DS-13 and Abhinanda is out now. But only in australia and europe for this moment. the records were pressed in the czech republic under the watch of german label eastcore with labels from australia and malaysia partaking in distribution. covers were pressed in malaysia and hand delivered by italians to australia. covers in europe and china will vary.
